Privacy policy
Effective 7 November 2026 · Stellarsoft
- We collect what it takes to run your account and your debates, and nothing for advertising.
- Public debates are public, including your display name. Votes are only ever shown as totals.
- Haqai's AI provider sees the arguments, never who wrote them, and doesn't train on them.
- No tracking cookies, no email tracking, no selling data.
- Write to hamza.abdullah@stellarsoft.tech to get a copy of your data or delete your account.
§ 1Who we are
Haqora (the website at haqora.com and its apps) is run by Stellarsoft (“we”). We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us its controller. For anything in this policy, write to hamza.abdullah@stellarsoft.tech.
§ 2What we collect
Your account. Your name and email address. If you sign up with a password, we store only a salted hash of it, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google or Apple, they give us your name, email address, profile picture and an account identifier, plus sign-in tokens we keep with your account. We ask them for your basic profile only, so we can't see your contacts, files or anything else in that account.
Your profile. Your handle, and the display name, bio and location you choose to add.
What you do on Haqora. Debates you open and join, the arguments and sources you post, your votes before and after reading, the points you mark as strong, the topics you follow, reports you make, your email settings, and your use of AI credits.
Technical data. When you sign in we record your IP address and browser with your session, to keep accounts secure and spot abuse. Our servers log each request (the page or action, when, and whether it worked) for 30 days.
Cookies. We use only the cookies that keep you signed in, plus one that protects a Google or Apple sign-in while it happens. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Our emails don't track whether you opened them or what you clicked.
§ 3How we use it
- To run Haqora: your account, debates, votes, ratings and settings. We need this to provide the service you signed up for.
- To have Haqai judge arguments: see section 5.
- To email you. Account emails, such as confirming your address or resetting your password, are part of the service. Notifications (your move, challenges, rulings) and the weekly digest are sent because they're useful to members; each kind can be turned off in Settings or with the link at the bottom of every email.
- To keep Haqora safe: reviewing reports, preventing spam, vote manipulation and abuse, and securing accounts.
- To meet legal obligations, such as answering lawful requests from authorities.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it to show you targeted advertising.
§ 4What other people can see
Haqora is a public square, so much of what you post is meant to be read by others. Choose what you share with that in mind.
- Public debates, including every argument and source, the debaters' display names and handles, Haqai's readings and its ruling, can be read by anyone and indexed by search engines. Strong arguments may be quoted on topic pages and in the weekly digest.
- Unlisted debates can be read by anyone who has the link, but are never listed or indexed.
- Private debates can be read only by their debaters and the people they invite.
- Your profile shows your display name, handle, bio, location, ratings and recent public debates.
- Votes, strong-point marks and follows are shown only as totals. Nobody else can see how you voted.
§ 5Haqai, our AI judge
When an argument is posted, Haqai reads it to score its reasoning and evidence, flag fallacies and, at the end, rule on the debate. To do this we send the debate's motion and side labels, the text and sources of the arguments, and Haqai's earlier readings to Anthropic, which provides the Claude models Haqai runs on. We don't send names, handles, email addresses or other account details.
Anthropic processes this content on our behalf and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. Haqai's assessments are automated. They affect debate scores and ratings, but no decision that has legal or similarly significant effects on you. If you think Haqai got something wrong, report it and a person will look at it.
§ 7How long we keep it
- Your account, profile and settings: until you delete your account.
- Request logs: 30 days. Database backups: up to 14 days.
- Arguments you posted in public debates: these form part of a shared record that others replied to. When you delete your account we remove your name, handle and profile from them, and they stay on the record attributed to a former member.
- Reports and moderation records: as long as needed to keep Haqora safe, and no longer than two years after the matter is closed.
§ 8Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it or your account, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Email hamza.abdullah@stellarsoft.tech from the address on your account. We'll answer within 30 days. Many changes you can make yourself in Settings.
Haqora operates under the law of the United Arab Emirates, including its Personal Data Protection Law, and you can complain to the UAE Data Office. If you live in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you also have rights under the UK GDPR or the GDPR, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to sort things out with you first.
§ 9Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, secrets live in a managed key vault, and private debates are checked on our servers for every request, not just hidden in the app. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn of a breach that puts your data at risk, we'll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
§ 10Children
Haqora is not for children under 13, or under the minimum age for using online services without parental consent where you live. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use it. If you believe a child has given us data, write to hamza.abdullah@stellarsoft.tech and we'll delete it.
§ 11Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters, for example a new kind of data or a new provider, we'll email members before it takes effect.
